The Ethical Life: Jewish Values in an Age of Choice:

Register Now!

From political and financial scandals to rapid progress in biomedical science and technology, the complex issues of modern society are, at their core, issues of ethical and moral concern. Now more than ever, we require a solid understanding of how Jewish ethics can inform our discussions and decisions about the critical questions of the day. Judaism has a long history of wrestling with moral questions, responding to them in a way that considers all sides of an issue.

The Ethical Life: Jewish Values in an Age of Choice offers a distinctive approach to the study of Jewish ethics, bringing the wisdom of our classical Jewish texts to bear on the unique challenges of our day. Through text study and guided group discussion, students will deepen their understanding of both how the sources were intended in their original form as well as how they can inform ethical behavior and character development in the present. Discussion around contemporary case studies and “Voices from the Field” videos will offer additional opportunities to apply traditional Jewish wisdom to contemporary ethical questions.

Your Course Fee of $18 is your passport to attend any (or all) of the lectures in this series. Classes will be held on Wednesday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 in the Beit Midrash at Temple Beth Shalom.
