Shabbat

Temple Beth Shalom offers it’s members many ways to celebrate and enjoy the entire range of Shabbat. During the Summer months, TBS offers many Friday Shabbatote outside at a local park or on our back patio as well as musical Friday night services during the year.

Part of our approach to Shabbat is to have engaging programming throughout the 25 hours of Shabbat each week. From welcoming the “Sabbath Queen” to ending with a moving Havdallah.

You can sign up to host or be a guest at one of our Shabbat Table Experiences in which our members host Shabbats on special themes facilitated by our specially trained Shabbat Animators who help to make Shabbat come alive at home.

Traditional Saturday morning services are lead by Rabbi Klatzker and Rabbi Cantor Gelman. You will find both traditional and newer melodies in all of our services as well as opportunities to participate or lead in Torah reading.

Rabbi Cantor Gelman is encouraging all post B’nai-Mitzvah (Girls and Boys) to continue using their Torah Reading skills by offering the Gelman Grant in honor of Joshua Gelman. Participants will earn a stipend for learning a new portion and helping to lead during a minyan. This ensures students continue the practice of life long learning and that performing a Mitzvah can be rewarding!

Our goal at TBS is to make the whole cycle of Shabbat more enriching and alive in each of our members lives. By providing more opportunities to participate in our services we hope to inspire those seeking a more personal connection to come and learn and pray with our Temple Beth Shalom families.
Shabbat Shalom and Welcome! We’re so glad you’re here!
